Around 9:30 this morning, we started what we considered to be the longest leg of our trip.... Denver to Omaha.... Omaha to Chicago..... We consider this the longest because we are getting tired... and there isn't a lot of excitement along this stretch to keep us motivated.... The highlight of today's trip was the road sign as we entered Nebraska and when we crossed into the Central Time Zone.... Other than that.... it was pretty much corn....corn....and more corn!!!
We are trying to get geared up for another day of corn husking tomorrow...... It's all good though... The sights we've seen, the friends we've visited, and the exciting things we've done are carrying us through....
A funny story from today.... Matt was aggravating me and I acted like I was gonna hit him... He jerked away and when he did he through his water all over the side of the inside of the door!! It was hilarious!!!! Guess when you are driving through a cornfield it doesn't take much to keep you entertained....
Also, while we were driving we made some pretty funny videos...BUT.... Matt is too embarrassed for me to put them on here... Go to his blog now and tell him you want the videos... Let your voice be heard... Power to the People!!!!
Tomorrow is the 4th and after our long drive into Chicago we expect to be awed by the sight of fireworks over the lake... Our hotel is right downtown and it promises to be a great ending point to a once in a lifetime trip!!! Also while in Chicago we plan on seeing the show "Wicked" and taking a segway tour of the city.... Click Here to learn what a segway is. I can hardly wait to get on one of these things... I have seen people riding them and always wanted to do it..
After Chicago, we have decided to head home... We were gonna make one more stop, but the money well is running dry..... Have a great 4th tomorrow.... and remember.... It is the last day to sign up on the comment page for the "Chicago Prize." Click Here!!!

Happy Fourth of July Boys! Have a good one. Love, JoAnn
Wow a segway thru Chicago how fun! I took my boys there in 2005 to see the Shedd Aquarium, Planetarium, and Art Museum. I lived in Milwaukee WI at the time so the trip wasn't too bad. If you ever go to Chicago to visit the museums get a City Pass first! You get like 6 different tourist attractions for like $50 well actually now it is $59. www.citypass.com there are other cities, like NY, Seattle, Boston, etc. You can see more for less $$. Hope you have a great rest of the trip and enjoy the fireworks in Chicago! Happy Fourth of July!
Wow! The scenery is fantastic. I am so jealous. My dad took my family on a camping trip we called 5 weeks to California and we visited all the same National Parks. I was in the 7th grade so it was a long, long time ago. I think all your research has paid off. It seems like ya'll have had an awesome trip. I can't wait to hear about Chicago.
