This morning I was making pancakes... After I got all the stuff in the bowl to mix, I realized I didn't have any eggs... I saw my neighbor across the street cutting grass so I ran out there to ask her for 2..... She was great... She stopped cutting grass... took off her grass cuttin' shoes and went right inside and without hesitation gave me the eggs....
Now.... we haven't talked in a while... She is a school teacher... I am a teacher... We probably won't talk til we come up for air at Christmas break..... I think it was before school started that we talked last......... but because of our neighborly friendship it was ok.... Some friends would be like.... Huh... He only needed something... He never talks to me...
But neighbors are different... Neighbors share without expecting something in return... Neighbors keep an eye on each other... The bake goodies for special occasions... They smile and wave every time they see you... It is just a great relationship of life.....
I am so thankful for my neighbors... I don't get to spend a lot of time with them but they're great!!! Thanks for the eggs K.E.!!!!!

you are not kidding - our neighbors are what made us decide to buy our house! they're the best ever. we've borrowed so much stuff, especially for our yard. he even mowed our grass for us!
I don't talk to my neighbors -- they scare me. :)
You know you're right that is a wonderful perception of neighbors and how helpful that easy relationship is. I have awesome neighbors on all sides of me. I have helped the elderly neighbors on one side of me learn how to use their computer and my other neighbors and I carpool the kids to school. Although at times we seem very close, if I don't talk to them for a few months they don't mind and realize that it's a busy life that generates distance between people most of the time.
