Unexpected Time

Wednesday night my sister called at about 8 o'clock and asked if she and Lawrence and the girls could come and spend the night because their power was out...Apparently a garbage truck had raised the bed of his truck at an inopportune time and snagged the power line bringing down the line and the pole.....They were told that the power would be back on by 7, then it was gonna be on at 9:30, then sometime during the middle of the night.....So to stay warm they loaded up and came to B.B.'s
I must admit at first I was not excited because American Idol had just come on and I knew that my ability to be entertained by the beautiful melodies :0) of those auditioning would be rudely interrupted, when they got there though I was SO GLAD THEY CAME. I hadn't seen them but maybe 2-3 times since Christmas and i did not realize how bad I missed them until Taylor came running in and jumped one me... She was so excited to see her B.B. and I think Sophie had gained 10 pounds and grew 5 inches.....The best part was Johnnie-Lynn's new Martha Stewart hair do....Really nice ;)..I just wish I had a picture....Anyway....Its my own fault I haven't seen them....They only live 4 miles down the road...Life seems to get in the way sometimes.....Life being church, national board, sickness, work, tiredness, and yes a little bit of selfishness.......I am gonna do better....I want to be such a part of Taylor and Sophie's life, and its amazing how fast their little lives are already passing by..I better get busy!!!
Even though I only got to see them (Johnnie-Lynn and family) for a couple of hours before bed....I loved having them there.....Taylor called me crying last night wanting to come back and spend the night with me again....That made it so worth giving up my bed for the brother in law!

I encourage you to keep that commitment. Become an integral part of their lives...you will NEVER regret it. I look at our boys ranging from 26 - 23 and Sally will be 15 tomorrow...and I wonder where all the time went...it flies by too quickly. Help them to focus on the things that are eternal and then you will have the assurance of spending eternity with them.
