Responsiblity
Recently I typed about my lack of love for reading...however over the past week I have been reading "The Purpose Driven Life." Now I know many of you thinking boy isn't Jed behind...I know that several years ago this book was the fad and everybody was doing it...Well I try not be a traditionalist or a band wagoner....so I am reading it now so as not to be a church lemming...Remember The Prayer of Jabez.....Lord everybody, even the devil himself, read that book because it was the cool thing to talk about at church and every where else for that matter....Anyway....as I was reading last night this quote jumped out at me......"The more God gives you, the more responsible He expects you to be." It is just a simple paraphrase of the verse that says ..."to whom much is given much is required." Anyway.....when I read it all I could think about was my class....God has given just an INCREDIBLE responsibility....I have 17 little lives that I am expected to mold, make, love, educate, discipline....the list goes on....As a teacher my responsibility is "GINORMOUS!!!!!!!!!" (in case you didn't know that is a word quote from my favorite movie ELF <----click here to know why its my favorite......) At first as the enormity of my responsibility hit me....like i didn't really know already.......All I could think about was how honored I was that God would put me in such a position......I then read my friend Steven's blog and he was talking about being a church starter....What a responsibility he has.......I am so thankful for my job and what God has entrusted me with here.......At the end of each chapter, Warren closes with a verse to remember.....this was it....."Unless you are faithful in the small matters, you won't be faithful in large ones." My prayer is that whether I am teaching these kids, scrubbing a toilet, working as a volunteer, or if I am the president of the United States that I would be found faithful.
