Hail to the Chief

Every year, in honor of President's Day, Which is the 2nd week of February, I ask the art teacher to have my kids draw pictures of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln for a presidential display I put on the wall outside of my classroom. The kids write stories about what they would do if they were president, there's lots of red, white, and blue stars and other patriotic things and in the middle I like to display their pictures of the former presidents...Every year I am surprised at how good some of the drawings are....Of course they are "kiddie" in nature but they are really good....There was one that stuck out to me this year as really funny....This one was drawn by Rayna....She did a really great job, but instead of George Washington, I thought it kinda looked like that mean old lady on the greeting cards....I cant think of her name but you gotta know who I am talking about....Anyway, I hope Mr. Washington is not too offended by this childlike depiction of him....Below I have posted a couple of the really outstanding ones.....I specifically like the George's. Notice the red lipstick that the one on the left seems to be wearing....She must have thought the art teacher said to draw Boy George....I will take a picture when the display is fully up on the wall and let y'all see how they did!

These two were done by Kristina and Michaela

This one is by Dahsir
