Why you ask???.... Because I am so OCD about it being clean that it takes me forever!!!!!!! I mean... I have to plan the time to do it... It takes me like 3 hours.... Does anyone out there seriously have to plan their time to clean the bathroom???
I take everything off the counters.... I wipe them down with cleaner... then I wipe them again with a Clorox wipe, then a dry cloth..... Then on to the toilet.... GOOD GRIEF!!! That alone takes an hour.... clean then clean....then clean again....
All the time I am cleaning the other stuff.... I have the tub soaking in bleach and water..... Before I clean the tub though I sweep the floor and get all the little bunnies up..... Then back to the tub... clean, scrub, clean again, scrub again....rinse.... then back to the floor....
I started at 10....stopped at 12 to go eat lunch and then came back.... finally around 1 I was done with both bathrooms......
Here is my question???? What can I do to cut down my time in there???? Do I need counseling for my OCD??? Should I just get over it.... what???? Help me readers!!!!!

Get your cleaning lady back before the skin on your hand peels off! Counseling wouldn't hurt, but the best fix for my OCD behaviors has been having a husband and 2 children so...

Don't change anything - being clean is the greatest Gift, and I admire anyone that cares enough about themselves and their surrounding - to keep things clean. Too many slobs in this world - and Praise The Lord, you are not one.
Keep On Keeping On!!!

You can always come to my house next, and that would cut down on cleaning time because you would have to be at another place to clean. :)
First of all, I am so the opposite! One of my favorite chores is the bathroom, but neat and tidy I am not. Although I have no idea how to help you! It doesn't take me that long. Shower/bath I try and plan to do when I am going to use it, I clean it then take my shower. Toilets I do more often and sink/counters. I don't know. I'll do your bathroom if you want to come organize some kids clothes or toys!!
Dear Jed-
I too am OC and it does create problems. When Ronnie and I went for pre-marital counseling, our pastor said I really had issues. I was raised with TWO OC parents and I never knew anything different. I was just amazed that nobody else lived in a germ free environment.
I agree with Melissa, having a husband and 2 children cured some of my OC. Also, I have health issues (from cleaning so much) that I have to rely on others to do what I can't do. Of course they don't clean like I would like but, beggars can't be choosy.
My advice, hire Merry Maids.
I don't have an answer for you here. It takes me forever, too. Maybe we should go to counseling together.
I thought your cleaning regimen sounded perfect Jed. I have to leave the bathroom many times while cleaning it so the fumes don't overcome me. Perhaps we can all carpool to counseling?
