Be Like Sophie!

Tonight we had dinner at my sister Johnnie-Lynn's.... Afterwards we were sitting in the living room and I was watching my almost 2 year old niece Sophie as she sat on the chair.... She was swinging her legs back and forth...kinds bouncing around... She was laughing and was just so happy... As I watched her I was just taken back about carefree her little life is... She has no worries, fears, cares, concerns... She is not weighed down my life's baggage... She is not burdened by the sins of her past.. she has no past... well... not much of one anyway... She is taken care of in every aspect... If she cries... everyone is instantly attentive to her needs...

As I watched her I was reminded of how much God wants my life to be just like hers... In His Word He says all who are weary and heavy burdened come and He will give them rest... He said He cast our sin as far as the east is to the west... He said let not your hearts be troubled.... cast all your care upon Him for He cares for you... His yoke is easy and His burden is light... He provides for the birds of the air and the flowers of the field... how much more will He provide our needs... He even says that one day He will wipe all my tears away...

Wow!!!... knowing all that how in the world do we let ourselves get mired down in the junk and mess of life.... He wants nothing more than for me/us to have a hope and a future... plans to prosper and not to harm us... Rest easy today...tonight... tomorrow.... whenever you read this... Be like Sophie!
