Stomach Flu

Holy Cow I have been sick.... Saturday at 4am I was not ready to get up, but my body jerked me out of bed and said.... "let's be sick."

At that moment I started my 4 day journey into the land of unbloggable (I seem to have lots of those stories :0)...but let's just say it was ups, downs, and arounds and arounds....

I haven't been that sick in a long long time. Wednesday was the first meal in 5 days. For some reason I was craving a subway sandwich. Not anything fancy... Just a BMT with extra mustard... I know I know... should have had some broth on my empty stomach, but I had not eaten in 5 days and I was HUNGRY!!!!!  A Man's gotta eat!!!

I wonder what I should eat tonight??? Any ideas.... Beacon.... Sugar and Spice... Time to get my pipes back to normal!!!!

TV Overload

I find myself being on TV overload here lately, and most of the overload comes on one night. Monday's are my favorite TV nights. I don't remember having to plan my nightly schedule around TV since Golden Girls on Saturday Nights (THAT WAS A JOKE... However, I do like the G.G. I was like 10 when it was on reg. TV.)

Every Monday night I have a list of shows to watch: Big Bang, How I Met Your Mother, Heroes, and 24. Thank Goodness for DVR, but I really hate not being able to cheer on my Heroes with the rest of the viewers while I am busy watching 24... I CANNOT miss the intensity of the live 24. The commercial wait actually intensifies the drama. There is something about watching it live and being shocked and surprised with the rest of the world.

Then Tuesday and Wednesday is American Idol.... Thursday is Survivor and Sunday is the New Amazing Race, Extreme Home Makeover, D.H. and Brothers and Sisters...

What are you watching... what are your favorites... Am I alone in my TV overload?

Holey Moley

I have told you before about my love for bedroom shoes. If I am home then chances are 100% that I have my bedroom shoes on. I love them. My feet are warm, but no socks. I hate socks. They make my feet sweat. I love my bedroom shoes so much that I wear them out... but by the time they get to wearing good, they  are too messed up to keep wearing... thus the pic below. These are my favorite ones. (Yes, I have more than one pair.) I ordered these online back in October. The fact that they have only lasted 5 months should tell you how often I wear them. I hate to say it but these are about to go. I will be sad, but these have served me well.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hope its a great day for everyone. My Valentine's was yesterday. Got some good candy from my students. They make holidays fun whatever they are. I even got a cards from students who I had never taught. That was thoughtful of them, and that is what a gift or card is all about. Have a great day!

Rotting Christmas Trees

I cannot believe it has taken me 2 weeks to blog about this... Guess I was just in shock that it actually happened, and lost all my wits. But, I digress...

2 weeks ago on Saturday I awoke to find a Christmas tree dumped in m backyard. I was FURIOUS to say the least. I mean seriously who puts a Christmas tree in someone else's yard?? Especially, a month after Christmas.

My backyard is not fenced in, and because of the way my neighborhood is, the yards are very close to one another... but there was NO WAY someone thought this was their yard.... It was right there... smack dab in the middle of my yard....

I didn't move it right away because I was hoping to catch someone down there messing with it. I never saw anyone come, but I know whoever it was came back because it had been moved just slightly the next morning to be more parallel with the creek behind me.

Finally, I broke down and drug the dumb thing out this weekend since it was so nice outside. I loaded it up in my nice clean car and hauled it off... All the way to the dump I was fuming at whoever did it... There I was, wasting MY SATURDAY, because someone was too lazy to do it themselves...

When I got to the dump... you guessed it... They wouldn't take it... I looked like an idiot riding around with a Christmas tree in my car on Feb. 7th, when it was 74 degrees outside.

I was on my way to the landfill when my I called my sister, and asked if  could put it in the woods on her land. She has plenty of and woods so they would never see it. Thankfully I didn't have to make the trip all the way over to Lyman.

Whoever the tree person is.... SHAME ON YOU!!!! Take care of your own tree next time!!!!!!!!!

The irony about all this... the same day one ended up in my backyard... My neighbor decided to throw one in her backyard, so now every time I open my kitchen window, there it is.... a rotting tree!!!!!! BAH HUMBUG!!!!

Quote of the Century

Tonight I went to dinner with the family, and as usual we got into some deep discussion about something... Who knows what??? We went because my mom is in school and none of us had really seen each other much since the big 50 party for my mom....

Anyway, while Johnnie-Lynn and I were talking, discussing.... ok ok...disagreeing about something, the quote of the century came from the mouth of my 5 year old niece.

Taylor said, "Mama you should really listen to BB. He knows more. He is a school teacher."

Game, set, and match.... BB won the discussion!!!!!!!!! Have you ever heard such profound wisdom coming from a child???? :0)

Thanks Taylor, your BB loves you very, very much!!!!!

Pennies For Pasta

Catchy title huh??? It is not my own, but the name of a school wide fundraiser we are doing to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of SC. I need all of my blog readers help. Bring me all your spare change to church or wherever you may see me, call me if you live near by and I'll come pick it up. 100% of the funds collected goes to the Society. The class with the most money raised gets a spaghetti party from the Olive Garden. My kids want it badly... and so do I. Nothing beats an Olive Garden Lunch, plus we will be helping a great cause. I look forward to getting some of your pennies...... and quarters.... and maybe even a check or two.... Make it payable to the name listed above in green. Thanks in advance.

Groundhog Day

Tomorrow is the day... I can hardly wait for the prediction... will he peek and run, or come out to play? I know... I know... this may be the most ridiculous post ever... I should be talking about the Super Bowl, but honestly, this interested me more...

I was curious about the history of this day... where did it start... and most importantly why... So, I googled it. Click Here to read up on it.

I would love to hear your predictions... Will he see his shadow or not? Let me know!
