Our Family Bleeds Ketchup!

Today I agreed to watch my nieces for a while so my sister and brother-in-law could could get some much needed yard work done... Of course after the girls got here it started to rain so there is not much yard work going on, but we are having a good time here at "BB's" house..I am happy to keep them, even though I reluctantly agreed..As you know I have been out of town for a while and needed to catch up.

Johnnie-Lynn delivered the girls with Chick-Fil-A.... As you will see in this video, all she needed was some BB ketchup! Sophie was totally ignoring all the fries to go straight for the good stuff... About every minute or so she would scream for me to squirt some more on her plate.... I was HAPPY to oblige... What's a BB for???? Happy Saturday!

A Day at the Zoo!

As promised here are some pics from Taylor and Sophie's first trip to the zoo... We went to Greenville Zoo... What a great day it was for the zoo... If you have been there you know the first animal you see is the elephant.... Today the elephants were in "unusual" form... They must not be feeding them very well, because the one elephant seemed pretty desperate for a snack. Check out pic number 2 to see what he was eating...

He got a big 'ole mouth full of "fiber" and ate it right in front of us... Taylor was screaming "Oh NO!!! He is gonna eat it!!!!" then she said.... "Oh gosh...He really ate it!!!" It was hilarious!!! Click on the pic to enlarge the view... YOU WILL DIE!!!!!!!

This was Taylor as she watched the elephant eat his snack!!!

This is me attempting to take a pic with my nieces... Sophie still doesn't care for me very much... O well.. maybe one day!!

The little girl in the middle is Hayley our cousin... She is the best reader in the world and only a first grader... She read every single sign to Taylor as we went through... She could even read the scientific names...

This is the CUTEST pic of the day!!!!!!!

A group photo at the end of the trip... It was a great day... Hope you enjoy the pics... and remember..... "DON"T FEED THE ELEPHANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Dyeing Eggs '08

Dyeing Easter Eggs was a bit traumatic for me this year... My mom and my nieces dyed them last week and I wasn't able to go... Then my sister and the girls dyed them today while I was at school. So... I missed both times... Well I cannot miss this tradition... I love to do it... So i stopped by the store on the way home and got all the stuff. I called my mom and asked her to come, but she was taking Taylor to have a "sleepover" with Granny (my grandmother), so that idea was out... My eggs were boiling and Matt was not the least bit interested in participating so I called my sister and asked her to come over.... Sophie was already in the bed so over she came... We had such a great time... I am so happy she came. I know she didn't really have time, but she sacrificed for her big brother!!! Here are some pics of the evening.... and a great video to show you all the fun!!! Enjoy!!

P.S. Tomorrow we are taking a family trip to the zoo... I should have some great pics!!!

The Old Rugged Cross

On a hill far away..... Stood an old rugged cross
The emblem of suff'ring and shame...

And I love that old cross,
where the dearest and best.... For a
WORLD
of lost sinners was slain.

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross...
'Til my trophies at last I lay down.
I will CLING to the old rugged cross,
and exchange it someday for a crown.

After this morning, I will never hear this song the same... I am forever thankful!

I LOVE KETCHUP!!!!

I know I have blogged about my love of ketchup before, but tonight I wanted to provide some proof of my obsession... This morning I opened a brand new bottle of ketchup and here it is at the end of the day....

I made chili cheeseburgers for lunch and then Chick-fil-A for dinner.... FYI: Matt loves it too.... That's why we have to buy about 4 bottles every time we go to the grocery store... With all the stormy weather today I guess I had nothing better to do than sit around and eat ketchup!!!

Wal-Mart Wizard

Tonight I had to go to Wal-Mart to get green beans for a Maintenance Luncheon we are having for the district Maintenance workers tomorrow at school. Of course I had to get some other things.... Believe it or not it has been about 2-3 weeks since I have been.... Anyway..I digress.....

When I got ready to check out I was listening to the cashier, Chris, check out the lady in front of me....He randomly told her that the average person will eat 16 acres of pizza in a lifetime.... I was intrigued by his comment... I thought he was reading it off of the cash register.. you know like it was Wal-Mart's new thing to impress us..... So, when it was my turn to check out I asked him about his fact... Much to my surprise he wasn't reading it but he had memorized tons of useless facts to entertain his customers that he got of some website.... kinda like this one

He told me some more things like...

There are more insects on the human skin than there are people in the world.

There are an average of 8 insect legs in a bag of candy.

etc...etc... It really was entertaining as I stood there checking out...He was like the Wal-Mart Wizard... Most people however probably laugh at him or make fun of him... but I was thoroughly impressed.... There he was making the best out of his work..and entertaining his customers.... What an example to us all. Thanks Chris!!!

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Mentor Training

This week I have been attending a 3 day training at the District office learning how to be a SC State Certified Mentor for new teachers. Going into this I really had no idea what I was going to do but I have had soooo much fun and learned so much..... Yesterday we learned about about how 1 person can truly make a difference in the life of another through mentorship.... Click Here to see this video that will challenge you to make a difference where ever you are... 1 person really can make a difference. I can hardly wait to see what nuggets of wisdom I will get tomorrow!!!

My Summer Vacation

Every summer of my life I have wanted to go on a drive across the country... I want to stop and see dinky little things along the way... Like the world's largest ball of twine, and the biggest statue of a corn cob... you get the point.... I was almost there last summer, but God had a different plan... This summer however, may be my time.... I am in the process of planning the trip now....

The plan is to leave on the 15th of June and be gone til we get done... Of course that should be some where around 3-4 weeks...

We are planning on going down through Atlanta and across the deep south into Dallas for the first leg... Then on to El Paso, TX where we hope to visit the Wade's, friends of ours from college...

After there we are headed to the Grand Canyon for a few days then on to Vegas.... While there we are planning to visit with my GREAT friend Teri... She is from Utah and lives just about 1.5 hours from Vegas.. I met her almost 14 years ago when I went to Europe...

After Vegas and Utah it's on to Yellowstone and Jackson Hole... I am hoping my friend Steve Miller will read this and email me with some suggestions about what to do and where to stay for cheap...

After a few days there we are headed across the upper plains to Mt. Rushmore, the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Cedar Point in Ohio, and down through Ohio and maybe to D.C. if we have enough money left by that point...

To end it all we will head down 95 south to Myrtle Beach for a few days of "recovery" before we head home.

I am hoping that all of you who read will offer some suggestions of things you may have done if you've ever visited any of the places in and around where we are headed... I look forward to your advice...

Needless to say a trip across the country will provide LOTS and LOTS of blogs... Stay tuned!!!

Dear God...

My sister sent me a forward today and for some reason I opened it instead of deleting it like I usually do with forwards ( DADDY!!!!) Anyway... I am glad I read it because it made me laugh... These are real letters some kids wrote to God.. They made me laugh out loud... I hope you do the same!!!

A Sunday Smile

Sometimes when the world is driving me nuts... I just have to smile to make myself feel better!!! So... Here it is!!! I hope it makes you smile!!!
Smile back because Monday is on the way!!!

Aren't I risible.... Look it up... build your vocabulary!!!

By the way... the movie was good, but not the greatest... For about the last 20 minutes I didn't take a breath because it was so intense, but then it just ended all of a sudden... I didn't have a lot of closure... I am a person who needs closure in a movie so that I can know that all is right with the world.... Would I recommend this movie??? Sure. Enjoy it!

Hey!

It's Saturday and man is it nice out...

I got up early and went to my class at the gym... I am so glad I did... I got my day off to a great start and got me moving instead of sleeping all morning.

Matt and I are headed to the movies in a bout 15 minutes... We are going to see Vantage Point... It is about the president being assassinated (I had to spell check that word... took me like 4 times and I still didn't get it right...No worries it is NOT a second grade word!!)

Any way.. the movie is about the president's untimely death and 7 different people have 7 different accounts as to what happens.... I'll let you know how it is...

Get out and enjoy your day... It is a nice one!!!
